Its the middle of the 2010 Wedding season and MAD Photography of Desborough, Kettering is busy with various Wedding bookings although we do still have one or two free Saturdays left this year.

Whilst some people are still leaving it late to book… we have just taken a deposit for Wedding Photography in Kettering for September 4th this year, we are getting a number of calls from couples looking to book for 2011.

We photograph Weddings all over Northamptonshire and beyond, having recently done Wedding photography for a local couple who found a lovely Hotel in Walsall to get married in. However in the last 48 hours we have spoken to a Ketterin couple who are planning

their 2011 Wedding in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire and asked if we would travel that far… considering we have photographed a wedding in Barbados (o.k we were on Holiday at the time and the couple booked the same holiday),in this country we have photographed Weddings as far afield as County Durham, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire amongst others.

This weeks enquiries include Wedding Photography at The Angel Hotel in Market Harborough and a Friday Wedding in Nottingham plus one in Titchmarsh Northamptonshire.

So if you are planning a Wedding and would like a Professional Wedding Photographer to look after you… it doesnt matter if you are getting married in Kettering, Market Harborough, Corby, Northampton or anywhere else in the country, visit www.madphotography.co.uk or call Brian or Mary on 01536 760382

Many Hands Make – your virtual office are flushed with success at completing our 10km walk and boosting our fundraising total for the Race for Life. We are chasing elusive sponsors (you know who you are) so the total is still rising. See our Cancer Research UK page for the latest total and to donate – or drop your loose change in a collection box here at Barking House on the green mile (Farndon Road) or at the Swimgym on the Riverside Industrial Estate – Market Harborough

We have had a busy couple of weeks in our virtual office – doing what we do at Many Hands Make – which is – dealing with client’s VAT returns, payrolls, running a Sage year end at a client’s premises and book-keeping on Sage and spreadsheets on the accounting side; researching and booking venues for conference and dinner, despatching goods and taking minutes at an AGM on the admin side of the business. With more days booked out at client’s premises and researching venues next week we are hoping to catch a few rays in the process.

Pat thoroughly enjoyed a presentation by Andrew Seaward of To Market at the Market Harborough Business Club. The topic was Sales Techniques for Small Businesses and was very entertaining and informative – for more information check out the MHBC website.

Choose Many Hands Make – your virtual office based in Market Harborough for bookkeeping on Sage or spreadsheets, payroll, order fulfilment, typing and word processing or any other admin requirements

Friday night saw the last of 5 Proms covered in 15 days by MAD Photography of Desborough, Kettering.

On Thursday we covered a large Prom in Peterborough with over 200 16 year olds attending, then on Friday we were at The Best Western Rockingham Forrest in Corby covering Kingswood Corby Year 11 Prom. On both evenings we had someone along to help us as we printed the photos on the night and were ready to sell the prints as soon as the speeches and awards finished.

For the first time we used a new queuing system when it came to sell to avoid the “rugby scrum” that we usually see. This also meant that we didn’t “lose any” photos at all unlike in previous years. Both evenings were succesful for us and we received some nice comments about the qulaity and presentation of the photos.

Using up to date efficient printers we are able to print over 100 7″x5″ prints in an hour and as we pride ourselves in being very professional, if anything went wrong with the printer or laptop, then we do take spares just in case. It goes without saying that unlike many amateurs who cover such events, we also have a spare quality camera and spare studio lights. For all Proms our photographs are full length to show off the outfits to their best and we do take time and trouble to pose the guests correctly.

For School Proms where there are over 100 guests we do not make a charge for turning up and rely on our quality photographs to sell. Sized at 7″x5″ (18cms x 13cms”) these are placed in presentation mounts and cost just £8 each, with discounts applying if you buy more.

The other day we were “fortunate” or perhaps “horrified” is a better word to see a sample from another School Prom that we definitely didnt photograph. The photograph was of poor quality with the colours being incorrect and it was placed in a “cheap” folder. The size of the print was the same as ours yet it was on sale for £15!!

So, if you want Professionals to cover your Prom or Ball, giving quality prints at a great price, MAD Photography of Kettering, cover all of Kettering, Corby and the rest of Northamptonshire, Market Harborough and South Leicestershire and even further afield by negotiation, then visit our website on www.madphotography.co.uk or give us a call on 01536 760382… you will be glad you did!

Its funny to here how many people are setting themselves up as photographers these days thinking they can cope yet with extremely limited equipment.

When visiting my local camera shop today I heard of one guy who bought what in the industry is described as “an entry level” camera with a cheap flashgun and is trying to do evening functions printing on site. He is not using Backgrounds or professional lights and has no backup for his camera and heavens knows what printer he is using.

Omly last week at a School Prom in Peterborough we heard about a function photographer using SLOW INKJET Printers.. how unprofessional.

We always put up Professional Backdrops (unless Summer shoots dictate we can photo outside) and a Professional lighting system. We have additional spare lights in case of any faults. We have our main camera (which is a top of the range “full frame” Canon), plus of course another professional Camera as a spare.

We print on site using a laptop and Efficient Thermal Digital Photo Printer that churns out prints in 13 seconds that are self laminating. In case of problems we always carry a spare laptop and spare printer… you are after all “Only as good as your last job”.

Can you imagine what would happen to “The amateurs”.. not only is it unlikely that they have any insurance, eithe Professional Indemnity or Public Liabilty, but what if they had an issue with their one and only camera or flash.. or priter.. or their laptop didnt work.

Heard the one about School Prom photography… some guys have a “portable flip” background and shoot “Head and shoulders”. The Guests have spent a fortune on their outfits yet the photo doesnt show it… you are never going to recreate that so discuss with us how we at MAD Photography of Desborough, Kettering can sort out all your Event Function photo issues

So for peace of mind always go to the Professionals and with years of experience in event photography in Northamptonshire and the Market Harborough area, call Brian or Mary on 01536 760382 or visit our website www.madphotography.co.uk

Friend of Many Hands Make the famous Brian Davies of Mad Photography was on the radio station Heart Northants. We didn’t get the opportunity to listen to it, and details are sketchy but reading their breakfast prog blog reveals that Brian is a Speedo wearer and it was all about fashion! Brian offers the full range of photographic services and studio facilities at MAD Photography, home of the Speedo.

Case of the missing crumpet – Many Hands Make eat breakfast here at Barking House – Pat swims first thing in the morning at Swimgym and Rachel sorts out the rest of the Jarvis household. This week we went to the cupboard but one of our crumpets was missing. HELP! Good job Mannix Security are in the building…. or is it? Watch this space as investigations continue by Tracey from our neighbours Acousticar. Just goes to show Steve was right – no crumpet in Barking House.

Many Hands Make are still in training so we’re trying to go for a walk every day before lunch – so if you call us please leave a message because that’s what voicemail is for. Walks this week have taken in East Farndon where we saw some gorgeous calves and Lubenham Hill where we saw a strange man lying on a grass verge.

Got to mention it again – Many Hands Make’s fundraising for the Race for Life has passed our target of £1000 and still rising – excellent- see our Cancer Research UK page for the latest total and to sponsor us – or complete one of our sponsorship forms here at Barking House on the green mile (Farndon Road) or at the Swimgym on the Riverside Industrial Estate – Market Harborough

You may have heard that England won a match yesterday! I remember the 1966 World Cup and our brand new colour TV from Radio Rentals that broke the day before the final. Dad stayed on the phone till they replaced it (no hold muzak in those days, colour TV’s were new and no-one owned a TV they were all rented)

The chocolate fondue fountain allegedly sourced for the Many Hands Make charity coffee morning TOMORROW 25th June has been fully tested and we hope someone will turn up and help Rachel use it!
